ABC secures funding for Artsakh Path

On December 29, 2010 Armenian British Connect (ABC) NGO team headed by the by the organization's Chairman Hayk Harutyunyan signed an agreement with AEG Service Ltd headed by the Director Ishkhan Karapetyan to collaboratively implement the ABC's Artsakh Path Project. According to the agreement, AEG Service Ltd (www.aegservice.am) will provide 16 mln AMD (approx. 44 000 USD) for the implementation of the abovementioned project as developed by ABC.

Designed in line with the ABC's mission and AEG service Ltd's CSR policies the project will support the reforms in the sphere of education, culture and economy. The project aims to contribute to the development of human resource potential and stimulate investment in knowledge economy in Artsakh. The ultimate goal of the project is to contribute to the educational, cultural and economic prosperity of Artsakh and enhance its visibility in the international community through creating professional human development opportunities, promoting intercultural dialogue and corporate social responsibility and integrating empowered labor force in the civic society environment.

Within the framework of Path Project, ABC in partnership with AEG Service Ltd will establish its branch in Stepanakert, which will serve for the development of the Artsakh civic society. ABC's Stepanakert office will be involved in a number of activities vital for the NKR development, like designing and implementing projects in the sphere of corporate social responsibility, developing project proposals and contributing to capacity building of NGOs in Artsakh. The ABC Stepanakert branch will also serve as an information and resource centre providing educational and professional counseling and placement services, as well as free language courses for Artsakh's society.

Considering the corporate objectives and mission of ABC and AEG Service Ltd, both sides agreed that Path project responds to the timely needs of Artsakh and are convinced that thanks to mutual endeavors and investment will make a step forward in civic society building.
